In Conversation with Nina Gbor

When: Monday 11th November 2024
Time:
4 PM - 5 PM
Location: Perth Town Hall, 601 Hay St, Perth WA 6000

Nina is the founder of Eco Styles and serves as the Director of the Circular Economy & Waste Program at The Australia Institute. With over 13 years of experience as a sustainable fashion educator, eco stylist, international speaker, and clothes swap host, she collaborates with media, councils, schools, and community groups across Australia to foster a more sustainable fashion future. She was featured in season 3 of ABC TV's War On Waste and continues to be a driving force in the movement towards a circular economy.

Her recently published paper Textile Waste in Australia highlights the clothing addiction of Australians, who purchase 56 new items of clothing a year, at an average value of $13 per garment.  Nina's insights into taxing ultra-fast fashion, industry regulation, and promoting repair incentives make for a thought provoking conversation.

Whether you're in fashion design, education, business, or simply a dedicated eco-fashion enthusiast, this session is not to be missed!

This conversation will be followed by a styling masterclass presented by Nina, as well as a Clothes Swap event. Please note that this is a separate event and registration is required via the link below:
